The mission of the Highland Lakes Health Partnership is to act as a catalyst to improve the health of residents of the Texas Highland Lakes area by identifying health related issues that affect area residents, facilitating solution focused action planning, educating area residents on health issues and coordinating community response to gaps in health services.

ABOUT HLHP

The Highland Lakes Health Partnership is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to act as a catalyst to improve the health of residents of the Texas Highland Lakes area by identifying health related issues that affect area residents, facilitating solution focused action planning, educating area residents on health issues and coordinating community response to gaps in health services. Current workgroups include Children's Awareness, Elder Awareness and Suicide Prevention and Awareness. To name a few of our events: HLHP is the organization that brought the Texas Mission of Mercy Dentistry Program to the Highland Lakes and incubated the Rotary Dental Suites at First Baptist Church. HLHP also organizes the Elder CARE Fair and the Back to School Kids' Fair.

The History of HLHP

In late 2002, The Seriff Foundation (TSF) focused its efforts in the health care arena by holding the first “Health Care Summit” and inviting anyone interested in health care in the region. The meetings consistently drew a large, active group of health care and social service professionals, volunteers, community leaders and business people.

Within six months, TSF had successfully incubated the Highland Lakes Health Partnership (HLHP).  This new organization was incorporated as a 501 © 3 in early 2003 and, by mid-year, had won its first statewide award.

HLHP has been successful because of its collaborative efforts and strong administrative leadership. We host monthly meetings, seminars and special health care events such as the Elder Care Fair and the Texas Mission of Mercy Dentistry program. We continue serving the community by offering special projects and events including the Health/Help and Services Guide and training programs such as suicide prevention and awareness education and CPR classes.
